Angelo Ale House and Pizzeria
About This Spot
Stepping into Angelo Ale House and Pizzeria feels like arriving at a longtime neighborhood gathering spot — familiar, unpretentious, and brimming with a welcoming warmth. The pace here is easygoing, the kind that invites you to settle in, peel away the day’s rush, and share a meal that feels thoughtfully crafted rather than rushed. Wooden tables, a lively yet relaxed hum of friendly conversation, and the occasional pop of oven fire create an atmosphere where the moment is as much about connection as it is about food.
This is a place that wears its love for pizza openly, offering a fresh take on classic comfort with an artisan touch. The thin Neapolitan-style crust, kissed by the wood-fired oven’s heat, carries toppings that spark curiosity without overwhelming. Whether it’s a playful drizzle of hot honey on pepperoni or the rustic blend of housemade Italian sausage and Spanish chorizo, each bite balances tradition with a hint of surprise. Vegetarians here find their own kind of delight, with combinations that feel more intentional than incidental, paired naturally with fresh herbs and house-prepared sauces that linger on the palate.
Beyond the pizzas, the ease of sharing shines through the starters and wings, inviting moments of simple joy—like pulling apart homemade garlic cheese sticks still warm from the oven or savoring tender wings with a touch of heat that doesn’t overpower but invites a second, third bite. And for those who linger until dessert, a sweet finish mirrors the thoughtful quality found throughout the menu, offering familiar flavors crafted with care.
The heart of Angelo Ale House comes alive not just in its food but in its spirit of community. Families with young children find a relaxed space to enjoy weekends, neighbors gather to unwind, and first-time visitors leave feeling like they’ve been let in on a local secret. It’s a place where flavors are made to be shared and where every meal carries the quiet invitation to return.

We are a retired military family and have to say in all our travels that this is the best pizza we’ve had! We will be back!

Decent pizza place but honestly, the standout is the wings. They are tasty and so tender. The only thing I could say is that I wish they had a crunchy version of them but otherwise they were phenomenal. Their lemon cake was also good just a little dry. The pizza itself is all right, but the vegetarian one felt like it just was thrown with fresh vegetables on top. They do offer a gluten-free crust which is very nice and its thin crust. They also accommodate parties of 6-8 and just need to move the tables. The interior is a little tight so if you have a big party, I think you should call them beforehand. The attendance picks up after 6. Good parking right in front

We took a risk only because we knew our pizza could end up cold and soggy during delivery. To our surprise, it was so full of flavor it didn’t matter it was semi warm. It wasn’t soggy either. They cooked our pickle pizza so well and it had so much flavor we couldn’t get enough. We loved both! The marinara and pesto is so good as well. Light pizzas but full of flavor. I can’t wait to order more!

We’ve come to AAH every weekend for an entire month. By far our absolute favorite pizza in San Angelo. Everything is extremely fresh, delicious, and inviting. The recipes are delicious, the food prices are so solid and the beer wall is really fun. You HAVE to try the garlic cheese sticks and the hot honey pepperoni. They’re 11/10 We’ve come with our 2 young kids every time and the staff are all amazing. They let the kiddos sit at the bar-top to watch the pizzas getting made. The girls even gave our kids coloring pages one afternoon! When the weather is nice, the rooftop is our go to spot. It’s very well maintained and relaxing. I can’t justify paying $10 for a dominos pizza when I can go to AAH and get a pepperoni that 100x better for $2 more.

Good quality fresh ingredients. Menu has a variety of invitive style pizzas. Thin crispy crust and great flavors. Oh and the ranch is good too.

Legitimately the best pizza I’ve ever had. The hot honey pepperoni was a top 5 meal of all time. Easily one of the best things to ever enter my mouth. Service was great and tap wall looked cool even though I just had the pizza. Bathrooms were also really clean. Other pizza just won’t be the same after the life-changing experience I had today.
